Written Reflections/Discussions -- 15 x 10 points each

Quizzes -- 4 x 25 points each

= 100

Participation: this will take into account absences tardiness, class  attitude, and group work

= 100
               TOTAL = 550
The number and nature of assignments may be adjusted to fit the needs of the class.

Grading Scale
Your final grade will be based on an average of the grades you have earned:

90-100% = A
80-89% = B
70-79% = C
60-69% = D
59 and below = F

  • Essay is 1000-1500 words in length.
  • Shows proper documentation of sources and references.
  • The essay meets standards of scholarly excellence.
  • The article is written in third-person point of view or limited first-person narration.
   

Content is comprehensive, accurate, and/or persuasive.

  • Content discusses a local, regional or national current event or political issue that has personal application to the student's environment.
  • Major points are stated clearly and are supported by specific details, examples, or analysis. Quotes, where needed.
 

Organization / Development

Tone is appropriate to the content and article.
